TRACS-- A public van service, with no age limit, no registration or applicationrequired, trips must be scheduled within 24 hours. First-come-first-served seat-availability basis so calling at 7 am when their lines open is a good idea. You can set the time of pick-up on both ends so there will not be lots of waiting around. Trips can be arranged for any reason (doesn't have to be a medical appt, etc) as long as it's from outside of Raleigh to Raleigh. It's either 2 $ or 4$ per way.
Phone: 919-212-7005.
The Center for Volunteer Caregiving also offers some limited transportation.
They also offer friendly visiting, and telephone visiting.
